Lifeguards / Pool Attendants
Have you ever wanted to be a lifeguard? A Squared is looking for dedicated, hardworking individuals to provide lifeguarding services to patrons of the communities we service. It is a great way to enjoy your summer and make some money at the same time.

Job Description​​:
-
Set up facility- arrange facility furniture, brush pool walls, empty skimmer baskets, vacuum and skim pool

Conduct hourly tests of pool’s chemical levels and record in log book
-
Maintain facility grounds and ensure cleanup of all litter, garbage, and debris
-
Maintain all records in accordance with State Sanitation Codes
-
Ensure that all pertinent and required information (certifications, emergency procedures, etc.) is visible and available for review
-
Open pool facility at stated opening time each day

Supervise patrons and enforce facility rules and regulations
-
Perform rescues and provide care as necessary
-
Check that all residents and guests are wearing badges upon entry to facility and perform random checks throughout the day

Close facility promptly, return all equipment to proper storage area, and secure all entrances

Job Description:

Manage and oversee lifeguards
-
Plan and organize workloads and staff assignments for lifeguards
-
Meet regularly with staff
-
Advise and coach lifeguards and evaluate them at the middle and end of the season
-
Provide weekly training to lifeguard staff
-

Prepare pool for opening and closing each season
-
Oversee daily maintenance of the pool and bathhouse/restroom facility, including making recommendations for repairs and capital improvement expenditures

Instill attention to safety with lifeguards as well as with pool members and guests
-
Enforce safety at the pool among both staff and members
-
Administer First Aid, CPR, emergency and other safety procedures, as required

Communications

Communicate regularly with staff, facility/maintenance
-
Prepare the facility for fun events such as swim competitions/games, pool parties and other special events
-
Create a safe and fun atmosphere for staff and members
-
Desired Qualifications:
-
Current Aquatic Facility Operator Certification or Certified Pool Operator in the State of New Jersey
-
Current certification in American Red Cross CPR and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer or American Heart Association Heart saver CPR
-
Swim America Program Director certification (American Swim Coaches Association) or Water Safety Instructor (American Red Cross)
-
Minimum of two years experience as a manager of a public or private pool or equivalent setting or experience as an assistant manager
